WHAT HAPPENS DURING YOUR CONSULTATION

In order for us to perform a thorough and complete examination of your eyes, allow up to 90 minutes for your appointment, especially if this is your first appointment with us.

Remember to bring the following:

  1. A valid referral from your General Practitioner, Optometrist or Specialist as this is required for you to receive any reimbursement from Medicare for your consultation and any treatment;
  2. Your glasses or other visual aids;
  3. Any test results that may be relevant;
  4. A list of your medications.

As part of your evaluation, initial assessments will be performed by a qualified and experienced ophthalmic assistant. Eye drops to dilate your pupils are often required for a full ocular examination. Your vision may be temporarily impaired and you may not be able to drive for up to 2 hours after your appointment. Sunglasses are recommended for outdoor use until your vision recovers.

Additional diagnostic testing or treatments may be required during your consultation. It is our policy that, where possible, fees for consultation, investigations and procedures are fully disclosed prior to the service, to allow full financial consent.

Payment is required at the time of consultation. We accept Eftpos, Cash, Cheque, Mastercard, Visa or American Express.

Department of Veteran Affairs Gold Card holders are fully covered.
