Dr I-Van Ho MB BS, MPH, PhD, FRANZCO
Medical Retina & Vitreo-retinal Surgery

Dr I-Van Ho is a Vitreo Retinal Surgeon and a Macular Disease Specialist who practises exclusively in surgical and medical diseases of the macular, retina and vitreous. A graduate of Sydney University Medical School, he completed his Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He has completed Vitreo-Retinal Fellowships at the Sydney Eye Hospital and University of British Columbia Canada. In 2006, he completed a Macular Disease and Medical Retinal fellowship at the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital and Vitreous Retina Macula New York, under the mentorship of Dr Lawrence Yannuzzi, a world leader in the diagnosis and management of macular disease and complex medical retinal diseases. Dr Ho is currently the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney and performs his surgery at the Sydney Eye Hospital.

His interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal vessel diseases and he performs small-incision vitreo retinal surgery for macular holes, macular membranes and retinal detachment. Dr Ho speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

Alex Hunyor

A/Prof Alex P Hunyor MB BS (Hons), FRANZCO, FRACS
Vitreoretinal surgeon / Macular specialist 

Alex graduated with Honours from Sydney University, and trained in ophthalmology in Melbourne before undertaking 3 subspecialty fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery, medical retinal and macular diseases - at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (Melbourne, Vic), Oregon Health Sciences University (Portland, Oregon USA), and Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN USA). He is a member of the Vitreoretinal Unit at Sydney Eye Hospital; Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University; and a Clinical Senior Lecturer and member of the Retinal Therapeutics Research Unit at the Save Sight Institute, University of Sydney. He was the first Chairman of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists. Alex is involved in clinical research projects in medical and surgical retinal conditions, has numerous scientific publications, and has given presentations at many local, national and international conferences. He is on the executive of the Fight Retinal Blindness project, and the Medical Board of the Macular Degeneration Foundation.

Dr Timothy Nolan MSc MB BS (Hons) FRANZCO

Medical Retinal Specialist

Dr Timothy Nolan is a Medical Retina Specialist who practices exclusively in the treatment of diseases involving the macular and retina.

Dr Nolan graduated with the highest accolade, the University Medal and First Class Honours from The University of NSW Medical School. He completed his Ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. This was followed by a sub-specialty fellowship in retinal diseases undertaken at Westmead Hospital. Here he was actively involved as a treating physician in clinical trials for the latest treatments for Macular Degeneration and Diabetic eye disease, which are his areas of interest. Dr Nolan is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. He is a consultant retinal specialist at St Vincents Hospital. He has a number of published articles in the scientific press.

His interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal vessel diseases. He has extensive experience in treating these conditions
